CakeCurious
For the cake-curious.
An app for cake-curious people — recipes to try, ingredients to buy, and a small marketplace where bakers earn by recommending what they cook with.

The spark
I love cake. I love building apps. Final year of university brought a graduation project — and I picked the obvious thing: the app I'd actually want to use myself.
For the cake-curious
CakeCurious is for people who love eating cake but haven't started baking yet. Browse recipes, save the ones that catch your eye, watch step-by-step videos, and try them when you're ready.
The target user wasn't a pastry chef. It was the person at a bakery counter wondering how that lemon-blueberry cake actually gets made.

A small marketplace
Recipes pull people in. The store keeps them coming back. We added a marketplace inside the app — bakers post videos, link to the ingredients and tools they use, and earn a small cut when followers buy.
A tiny symbiotic loop: viewers learn, bakers earn, sellers reach an audience that already cares.

Built with friends
This was the first product I shipped end-to-end with a team. University friends, late nights, shared milestones — the kind of energy that's hard to find solo.
Looking back, the lesson is simple: passion gets you started, but a team is what gets you across the finish line.
